Prerequisites

• Your new passport is ready for collection.
• If you authorize another person to collect the items, that person must provide proof of identity and a written authorization to collect from you. A sample authorization for collection can be found in the link below.

• If available: your old passport
• Collection slip (received upon application for the document)
• If represented: Power of attorney for collection

Procedure

• After you have applied for a new passport, it will be produced by the Federal Printing Office.
• You can check online whether your passport is ready for collection.
• When your passport is ready, make an appointment to collect it at the office where you applied for it.
• You will appear in person at the agreed appointment. Alternatively, you can authorize another person to attend.
• You submit the necessary documents.
• You can hand in your old passport or have it validated and keep it as a souvenir. This is not necessary if you no longer have your old passport due to loss or theft.
• Your new passport will be handed to you and you will confirm receipt with your signature.
