Detailed description

If you, as a young person, wish to begin an apprenticeship or other employment relationship, you must undergo a medical examination. The examination serves to determine whether you are physically and developmentally suitable for the profession. This is intended to prevent you from suffering health damage as a result of the work.



The state covers the costs of the examination. To be covered, you must have a certificate of authorization for the examination. You must apply for this certificate from the responsible authority.

 

Information

Prerequisites

  • They are between 15 and 17 years old
  • You are registered as having your main residence in Hamburg.
  • You want to start an employment relationship that is not marginal and is expected to last longer than 2 months.

Documents required

  • valid identification document
    • If you are represented when submitting the application, the authorized representative must identify themselves and also bring a valid identification document from you.

Please note

You decide which doctor you want to be examined by. You must bring the examination authorization certificate with you to your appointment and present it to the doctor. Only with this examination authorization certificate can the doctor's office bill the responsible authority. After the examination, you will receive a medical certificate. You must present this medical certificate to your employer.

Deadlines

You must undergo a medical examination before starting work and commence employment no later than 14 months after the examination.

Procedure

  • You can arrange a personal appointment online or by phone.
    • You can also be represented at the appointment by a legal representative (for example, a parent).
  • At the appointment you will apply for the examination authorization certificate.
  • The responsible authority will examine your application.
  • You will receive the examination authorization certificate directly at the appointment.

You can use this service at any Hamburg Service Residents' Affairs location, regardless of where you live in Hamburg.

Mon-Fri 7am-7pm, visits are only possible by appointment. You can book an appointment online (https://www.ºÚÁÏÀÏ˾»ú/go/17584) or by phone at 040 115.
-Zur selbstständigen Erfassung der biometrischen Daten (Foto, Unterschrift, Fingerabdrücke). Bei Nutzung entfällt das Mitbringen eines Fotos. Kosten: 6 EUR

If you would like to apply for an identity card, passport or children's passport, you can use an existing self-recording terminal (Speed Capture Terminal) to capture the necessary biometric data (digital photo, signature, fingerprints).


Please allow a few minutes more time before your appointment to collect your data.


Note: You will not receive a printout of the digital photo.


There is no need to bring a passport photo with you when using the self-registration terminal.


Use costs 6 euros.


Please speak to the clerk afterwards.



The existing self-recording terminal (Speed Capture Terminal) cannot be used for fishing licenses and driver's license applications. Please bring a passport photo (biometric) with you for these services.
