Detailed description

If you want to fish in Hamburg, you must first pay the Hamburg fishing fee. This also applies if you do not need a fishing license due to a special permit.



If you live in another federal state and want to fish in Hamburg, you must also pay the fishing fee, even if you have already done so at your place of residence.

Please note

In Hamburg, fishing fees from other federal states are no longer valid since June 4, 2019 due to the new fishing and angling law. The Hamburg fee must be paid by all anglers. Only Hamburg residents are allowed to pay the fee at Hamburg Service. You can also pay the fishing fee at private issuing offices.

The annual fee can be paid by an authorised person.

Citizens who do not live in Hamburg must pay the fishing fee at private issuing offices. A current list of private issuing offices can be found at: Forms, Services and Links

Deadlines

You must pay the fishing fee before you start fishing.


You usually pay the fishing fee for one calendar year.


The levy can be paid for a maximum of three years in advance.

Procedure

  • You can use the online service to pay the fishing fee. Alternatively, you can visit one of the relevant offices in person.
    • If you have registered a residence in Hamburg, go to a local Hamburg Service location or to one of the recognized private issuing offices.
    • If you do not live in Hamburg, go to one of the private issuing offices.
  • You pay the fishing fee.

If you would like to apply for an identity card, passport or children's passport, you can use an existing self-recording terminal (Speed Capture Terminal) to capture the necessary biometric data (digital photo, signature, fingerprints).


Please allow a few minutes more time before your appointment to collect your data.


Note: You will not receive a printout of the digital photo.


There is no need to bring a passport photo with you when using the self-registration terminal.


Use costs 6 euros.


Please speak to the clerk afterwards.



The existing self-recording terminal (Speed Capture Terminal) cannot be used for fishing licenses and driver's license applications. Please bring a passport photo (biometric) with you for these services.
