Apply for benefits and grants for young people in full-time care

You can apply for one-time benefits and subsidies as part of your full-time care for the young person in your foster family. Learn how and under what conditions you can receive these benefits here.

Detailed description

When you take in a young person as part of your full-time care, you will receive not only ongoing care allowances but also ad hoc assistance and subsidies for the young person's special needs in your foster family. This includes, among other things, initial furnishing of the room (furniture, household goods, clothing, etc.), strollers, car seats, school trips, orthodontic treatment, and additional therapy needs.
You can also receive a subsidy for the conversion or extension of your living space to accommodate additional young people or to maintain existing care arrangements, as well as for the acquisition of living space (for example, if you move to a larger living space).

In addition to the young person's maintenance and a lump sum for your extraordinary commitment, the monthly care allowance also includes flat-rate additional benefits. These are intended to allow you to build up reserves for the young person's personal events, such as school enrollment, graduation, entry into professional life, gifts for Christmas or other religious or ideological holidays, and the purchase of a bicycle. School trips and the costs of babysitting to provide support for you are also included in the flat-rate additional benefits of the care allowance.
