Detailed description

If you are not yet 18 years old, you can obtain a settlement permit under certain conditions, even if your parents do not have a settlement permit.

A settlement permit is a permanent residence permit. It allows you to work and live anywhere in Germany, and there are usually no additional requirements.

The competent authority where you can apply for a settlement permit depends on the reason for your parents' residence permit.

  • You have held a valid residence permit for family or humanitarian reasons for at least 5 years without interruption and can prove that you have resided in Germany.

  • There is no interest in deporting you.

Please note
