Apply for integration assistance for the first time at the Department for Integration Assistance

If you or a person you care for are limited in their ability to participate in social life due to a disability or the threat of disability, you may be eligible for integration assistance.

Detailed description

You can receive integration assistance to eliminate or mitigate your disability or its consequences. The goal is to enable you to participate in life as equally as possible – just like people without disabilities. Integration assistance supports you in all important areas of life: housing, employment, and social and cultural life. The aim is to prevent or counteract disadvantages. Integration assistance promotes your self-determination and strengthens your full, effective, and equal participation in society. If you wish to receive integration assistance, you must submit an application to the responsible agency.

You can also apply for integration assistance for people who represent you as part of legal guardianship, guardianship, or as an authorized representative or person with custody.

In Hamburg, different agencies are responsible for providing integration assistance benefits for different groups of people. Further information can be found in the "Notes" and "Links" sections.
