Detailed description

Under certain conditions, you can obtain a settlement permit if you are employed as a civil servant by a German employer in order to fulfil official duties in the Federal Republic of Germany.

If you, as a foreign national, are appointed to a German civil service position, this is a strong indication of integration, reliability, and a secure livelihood. This significantly facilitates the granting of a settlement permit.

You may already have a residence permit for the purpose of employment. Under certain conditions, you can have this converted into a settlement permit.
