Prerequisites

• Your child is under 18 years old.
• You receive one of the following social benefits:
  • Unemployment benefit II, Hartz IV or social benefit,
  • basic security or social assistance,
  • Social benefits under the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act
  • Housing benefit
  • Child allowance
• Your child demonstrably participates in cultural, sporting or musical activities.

Documents required

• Approval notice or certificate (confirmation of benefits)
  • The certificate is a short notice confirming that you receive social benefits. If you receive citizen's allowance, apply for the certificate in advance at the job center team.arbeit.hamburg. If you receive other social benefits, you will receive the certificate automatically.

Please note

If the activity is offered free of charge (for example, free soccer practice), you can also receive the flat-rate benefit of €15 per month. It is assumed that you have expenses, such as travel costs or equipment. You will need confirmation that your child is participating in the activity.

Costs for equipment are included in the flat rate.

Procedure

• You apply for the flat rate for cultural, sporting or musical activities as part of the education package with the necessary documents to the responsible authority.
• The responsible authority will review your application and documents. If necessary, they will request additional documents or information from you.
• The responsible authority will check the requirements and decide on your application.
• You will receive a notification.
• You will receive the lump sum.
