Detailed description
Housing benefit is a government subsidy in Germany that helps low-income households with the cost of their housing.
The child supplement (KiZ) is a supplementary benefit for low-income families who can support themselves but do not have sufficient income to provide for their children. It is paid in addition to child benefit.
If you receive housing benefit or child benefit, you can apply for reimbursement of school supplies.
School supplies such as school bags, pens, calculators or backpacks and sports equipment are reimbursed, as are writing, calculating and drawing materials such as fountain pens, crayons, compasses, protractors and erasers.
Expenses for consumables that must be purchased regularly, such as notebooks, pencils and ink, cannot be reimbursed separately.
