Prerequisites

Access to the 3-year training is via the intermediate school leaving certificate (MSA) and additionally

路 At least two years of vocational training in a recognized training occupation or in the public sector or

路 a vocational school with an average grade of 3.0 or

路 a relevant occupation or

路 the entrance qualification for a university of applied sciences or the general higher education entrance qualification with a four-month internship

or four months of professional activity in the socio-educational field

Access to the 2-year training is via the intermediate school leaving certificate (MSA) and additionally

路 the training as a "Social Educational Assistant" or "Social Educational Assistant"

or

路 at a vocational school specializing in 鈥淗ealth and Social Affairs鈥� or

路 at a technical college for social education or

路 at the vocational high school "Pedagogy and Psychology"

Please note

The full-time school education to become an educator lasts four to six half-years, including the practical part, depending on previous education. With appropriate previous training, it is reduced to two years. It can also be completed in part-time form. This form covers six semesters.

Procedure

Registrations are made by April 30 of each year. Training begins on the first day of school after the summer holidays. In some schools, classes are set up by February 1st, and then registration takes place by October 31st of the previous year. The central registration school is the BS30.
