Prerequisites

• The main residence of the applicant is in Hamburg
• The minimum age is 25 years
• In possession of a class B driving license for at least 5 years
• Participation in a driver training course in accordance with Annex 7b of the Driving License Ordinance
• The period between completion of driver training and entry of the code number 196 must not exceed one year

Documents required

• Valid identity card or passport with current registration confirmation
• A biometric passport photo 35 x 45 millimeters
• Current driver's license
• Proof of participation in driver training in accordance with Appendix 7b of the Driving License Ordinance
• Appointment confirmation

Procedure

Please book an appointment for a personal consultation. Proceed as follows there:

1. Under the Driver's License service group, choose the Change Driver's License Data service.
2. If you want to display the next free appointments depending on the location, choose location selection.
3. Select date selection to display the next available appointments regardless of location.
4. Now select a free appointment (date and time) in the displayed calendar.
5. To book, enter your name and email address.
6. You will receive an email. Please confirm the appointment.
7. Please be sure to take the appointment confirmation that you will receive after booking with you to the appointment.

Fees

The fee is EUR 28.60 for entering the key number. An additional EUR 44.70 - EUR 63.80 is charged for issuing and sending the new EU card driver's license. The basis for this is the fee schedule for measures in road traffic (GebOSt).
