If you have acquired a service driving license as part of your work with the police, armed forces or the federal police, you can have it converted into a general driving license.
You can exchange your service driver's license for a general driver's license, which then also allows you to drive motor vehicles on civilian roads. This applies to driver's licenses issued by the German Armed Forces, the police, and the Federal Police. You no longer need to take any new exams such as an eye test, first aid, or driving test to convert.
The LBV locations Mitte and Nord are responsible for the exchange.
If you want to not only exchange your driving license for categories C and D but also extend it at the same time, you must comply with additional requirements and submit additional documents.
