Apply for and renew a resident parking permit

Detailed description

If you live in a resident parking zone in Hamburg, you can apply for a resident parking permit for one vehicle.


The resident parking permit is only valid for the designated zone (resident parking zone) in which you are registered. With the resident parking permit, you are exempt from the maximum parking time and parking fees in that area. You can find out which resident parking zones exist in Hamburg under "Links."

 

Information

Prerequisites

  • You have your main or secondary residence in a Hamburg residents’ parking area and actually live there.
  • The vehicle is registered to you or you use the vehicle permanently.
  • You are at least 16 years old.

Documents required

  • valid identity card or passport with current registration certificate
  • the registration certificate part I(vehicle registration document)

Additionally for an extension:

  • the previous resident parking permit

Additionally atApplication by proxy:

  • Power of attorney in original
  • legible color copy of the principal's ID card
  • Identity card of the authorized person

Additionally atCompany car:

  • upon request by the LBV:Company car confirmation from the employer

Additionally, if the applicant is not the vehicle owner:

  • upon request by the LBV: confirmation of useof the vehicle owner

Please note

  • The resident parking permit must be displayed visibly in the vehicle.
  • A resident parking permit is also required for motorcycles.
  • Resident parking permits cannot be applied for for trailers as they are not motor vehicles.
  • The resident parking permit does not guarantee a specific parking space, but only allows permanent parking in the resident parking zone in which you are registered.
  • A resident parking permit can only be issued for a specific vehicle (the license plate number is entered into the resident parking permit).
  • If you use third-party vehicles, rental vehicles, or company vehicles, you also have the option of applying for a resident parking permit. Rental vehicles and changing company vehicles must be clearly identifiable as such (name of the respective company).

Deadlines


  • The resident parking permit is valid for one year.

  • An extension is possible starting six weeks before the expiration date. If the resident parking permit has already expired, an extension is no longer possible. In this case, please apply for a new resident parking permit.

Procedure

Online application:

  • You can apply for a resident parking permit online and then print it out at home.
  • When applying online, you can pay with PayPal, credit card or Giropay.
  • Please ensure that you enter your personal information correctly. You can use the spelling on your ID card as a guide. Otherwise, technical difficulties may occur.
  • If there is a block on information in the residents' register, the online application cannot be used for security reasons. Please book an appointment with the LBV or HamburgService in person.

Application on site:

  • You can apply for your resident parking permit at the Landesbetrieb Verkehr locations (category Resident Parking, appointment type New Application / Extension / Change Resident Parking Permit) or at the HamburgService City location.
  • To do so, book an appointment online either with the LBV or with HamburgService.
  • Bring all necessary documents with you.
  • Your request will be processed on site and the resident parking permit will be issued.

Processing time

The online application takes only a few minutes. After the online application, the resident parking permit can be can be printed immediately at home. If applied for on-site, the resident parking permit will also be issued immediately if all documents are complete.

Fees

The fees for the initial application and renewal of a resident parking permit are per year


  • online: 65.00 EUR

  • personal: 70.00 EUR


The fee for changing the resident parking permit in the event of a change of license plate or moving to another resident parking zone is

  • 10.00 EUR.


In the event of loss or damage, a replacement document will be issued free of charge. Fees are based on the Hamburg parking fee regulations.
