Prerequisites
- Your vehicle is registered or licensed in Hamburg
Documents required
- valid identity card, electronic residence permit (eAT) or passport with current confirmation of registration
- Registration certificate part I (vehicle registration document)
- Appointment confirmation
Additionally, if an authorized person submits the application:
- written authorization from the applicant
- valid identity card of the authorized person
Even if the application is submitted by proxy, the applicant’s original identity card must be presented.
Please note
To enter certain countries outside the EU, you will need a Carnet de Passages (Carnet de Passages). This document allows for the temporary, duty-free import of your vehicle into other countries and is issued by automobile clubs.
In addition, in some countries outside the EU, a so-called green insurance card or international insurance card is required, which proves that the vehicle is insured. This card can be obtained from your motor liability insurer.
The respective foreign representation of the country will inform you which documents you need in which country.
