Prerequisites

• Your vehicle is exempt from vehicle tax. The main customs office decides on this.
• There is no exception to Section 9 Paragraph 2 of the Vehicle Licensing Ordinance (FZV).

Documents required

• Application for a green license plate (available locally)
• Registration certificate part I (vehicle registration document)
• the black license plates if the vehicle is still registered
• further documents according to the type of registration (e.g. transfer, new registration and others)

Please note

• A combination of seasonal license plates and green license plates is possible.
• The allocation of a green license plate is noted in Part I of the registration certificate.

There are no deadlines.

Procedure

• Book an appointment online.
  • Book the appointment that best fits your needs on our website. This appointment must be arranged during the registration process. There is no specific appointment type for this license plate number.
  • You will receive an email. Confirm your reservation using the link in the email.
• Bring all necessary documents and the appointment confirmation with you to your appointment at the LBV.
• Scan the QR code on your appointment confirmation using the scanner on site.
• Take a seat in the waiting area. You will be called by your call number.
• Your request is being processed.
• The LBV will forward your application to the Main Customs Office, which will then make the final decision on your application.
• The main customs office will then contact you.

Processing time

Your request will be dealt with directly on site.

Fees

The fees depend on the type of registration (e.g., transfer, new registration, and others).
