Detailed description

Subsistence allowance is a social benefit in Germany. It provides financial support if you are unable to support yourself and are not entitled to other benefits such as citizen's allowance. It is part of social assistance and is intended to ensure your minimum subsistence level.

You can receive assistance with your living expenses if you are temporarily unable to work, for example, due to health reasons. This support helps you if you cannot cover your living expenses yourself because your income or assets are insufficient.
