Important notes
Documents required
BASIC:
- 1 biometrically readable passport photo from the latest time (35x45 mm without border, background light and monochrome. Sample - see link Federal Ministry of the Interior)
- Valid travel or national passport
- Proof of adequate health insurance coverage
- Fully completed and signed application form
Depending on the reason for the visa extension, additional documents (e.g. medical certificates) may be required.
Please note
According to the so-called Visa Code, an extension to a total of up to 90 days is only possible for serious personal reasons, urgent humanitarian reasons or due to force majeure.
The extension of a visa that has already expired is excluded. In this case, the authority for home affairs - residents central office is responsible.
