We provide Hamburg residents with various materials for political education free of charge. These include books, brochures, magazines, films and games on topics such as democracy, history, society and political participation. A particular focus of our publications is on Hamburg and the region.
Many materials are provided free of charge. A so-called ‘provision fee’ of 15 euros applied to most of the publications. This fee helps support the wide range of resources provided. After paying the flat rate, each customer is provided with up to five different titles. It is possible to initially select only one book or game and then collect the remaining publications at a later point in the calendar year. If required, this offer can also be used several times a year (under the same conditions). Our media are available to anyone who lives, works, studies or learns in Hamburg.
As a gift idea, the provision flat rate can also be purchased in the form of a voucher.
Exceptions also apply to institutions of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, educational organizations, or scientific collaboration partners. These entities may receive titles free of charge or, if applicable, be required to pay a corresponding flat-rate provision fee.
The information office of the Hamburg State Centre for Political Education is the place to go for anyone who wants information, further education and to find out more about political processes and social issues.
