Summer DOM 2025: World Premieres, Family Fun, and Fireworks Over Hamburg
Hamburg’s Summer DOM is back and bigger than ever, turning the Heiligengeistfeld into a buzzing hub of excitement for four full weeks. From 25 July to 24 August 2025, Germany’s largest funfair offers a thrilling mix of brand-new rides, beloved classics, and colourful special events just in time for the summer holidays.
What’s New?
This year’s biggest news? Two world premieres. Making their debut at the Summer DOM are NordMANN – The Viking Coaster and the massive haunted house Halloween. The Viking Coaster promises high-speed twists for the whole family, with spinning gondolas and sharp turns across 120 metres of track. If you prefer your thrills spine-chilling, Halloween delivers with three floors of frights, over 30 special effects, and immersive scenes inspired by horror hits like Saw and Chucky, plus interactive cars that heighten the scare factor.
Extreme Rides & Unique Attractions
Adrenaline junkies can also look forward to returning favourites. Ride the wild currents of Atlantis Rafting, Europe’s only mobile rafting ride. Brave Dr. Archibald – Master of Time, a groundbreaking virtual reality dark ride. Soar above the city on the Nordic Tower, one of the world’s tallest transportable swing rides at 80 metres. Or take a spin on Jekyll & Hyde, the 125 km/h looping monster with 4 g-force and a 41-metre height.
Other standout attractions include the massive Mein Rad Ferris wheel, the splashing fun of the Piratenfluss log flume, the retro charm of Rund um den Tegernsee, and the high-flying Top Spin Fresh—not to mention the DOM classic Wilde Maus, offering edge-of-your-seat turns that never get old.
Event Highlights
The festivities begin on 25 July at 4:00 PM, when State Councillor Andreas Rieckhof officially opens the Summer DOM in front of the Ferris wheel. Guests can look forward to giveaways including ride vouchers, DOM teddy bears, and snack boxes.
On 31 July, the DOM turns rainbow-coloured for the 9th Regenbogentag, celebrating diversity and inclusion in partnership with Hamburg Pride e.V. The vibrant parade kicks off at 7:00 PM at the Feldstraße entrance, followed by live music, confetti, and an after-party starting at 8:30 PM.
The 3rd DOM Summer Games take place on 14 August, where guests aged 8 and up can compete in playful challenges like duck fishing and tin can throwing. Winners will be honoured during a prize ceremony at 6:30 PM. Entry is free, but spaces are limited. Sign up at dom-sommerspiele.de.
As always, the beloved DOM bear Bummel will make his rounds every Wednesday (4:00–6:00 PM) and Sunday (3:00–5:00 PM), spreading cheer and posing for selfies near the Ferris wheel—unless rain sends him back to his cosy cave.
Visitors can also enjoy three dazzling firework shows lighting up the Hamburg sky at 10:30 PM on 25 July, 8 August, and 22 August.
Every Wednesday is Family Day, with discounts on rides, games, and food—perfect for a budget-friendly outing.
