With over 1900 kilometres of beach and several UNESCO world heritage towns, the area of Mecklenburg is the perfect place to relax and restore.
The North is famous for its over 200 years of bathing culture and history, with spectacular architecture and elegant piers part of its seaside charm. It comes as no surprise that the first Strandkorb wicker chair, closely associated with beach resorts in Germany, was invented in Mecklenburg.

Piers and promenades with shops, cafes and restaurants are a common sight at Mecklenburg beach resorts. Relax and unwind on next to the Baltic Sea in stunning towns such as Boltenhagen, Kuehlungsborn and Warnemuende.
Some places even have a fishing village charm, such as the peninsula of Fischland-Darß-Zingst or the island of Hiddensee. Here, visitors can experience the area's artistic traditions, by admiring the highly decorative painted doors of fishermen's houses.
