A Long History
Once a military academy and a boarding school, Pl枚n castle is now home to an opticians training centre. That however, doesn't detract from its lively history. Originally built as a residence for the nobility, the castle has passed hands many times. At one point, the castle was even the summer residence of the Danish king!
The Castle Today
Now, it takes pride of place on top of a hill rising above the town of Pl枚n. Visitors can explore the huge grounds surrounding the castle, admire the many lakes of the region, explore the nearby city, or even take a castle tour and find out about its use today and its historical role.聽
