In the weeks leading up to Christmas, Hamburg's city centre is immersed in a delightfully joyous spirit. The air is rich with the scent of cinnamon, mulled wine and roasted almonds, while beautifully decorated displays entice Christmas shoppers. On four Saturdays in December, this merry spirit culminates in a special highlight: the Hamburg Christmas parades. Twice a day, dancing angels, elves and reindeer parade through the city centre聽鈥斅燼ccompanied by colourful floats, festive music and Santa Claus himself.
The Hamburg Christmas parades start at 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. leaving from M枚nckebergstrasse in front of SATURN.
