Hamburg, as a city that refers to itself as both worldly and open-minded, has a vibrant LGBTQIA+ community. To embrace this community, the annual PRIDE WEEK offers a multitude of events in such diverse locations as , clubs, churches and the Rathaus City Hall. Several performances and parties will celebrate achievements like the legalisation of same-sex marriage, whereas speeches and discussions will remind attendees that sexual equality is still far from normality in many parts of the world.

Festivities during PRIDE WEEK will be highlighted by the PRIDE PARADE. The parade will take place during the Christopher-Street-Day weekend and leads through the LGBTQIA+ hotspot of St. Georg around the Inner Alster Lake.
