Long Night of the Consulates

If you’re looking to get a taste of foreign cultures, look no further than Hamburg’s Lange Nacht der Konsulate.

Senatskanzlei

A rich and varied program awaits visitors during Hamburg’s annual Lange Nacht der Konsulate (The Long Night of the Consulates). If you’re looking for a way to experience an around the world trip in just a few hours, this is it, as 30 of Hamburg’s consulates and international cultural institutes open their doors to visitors.

Enjoy concerts, lectures, picture tours, cultural performances and, of course, a range of culinary delights as you pop in at consulates and institutes around the city. For example, how about an Ethiopian coffee ceremony or Indonesian music and dance performances? Maybe Indian short films or Italian jazz? This annual tradition has so much on offer, it’s impossible to sample everything in one night — but you can still try!

In 2022, the Long Night of the Consulates took place on 10 May from 6 p.m - 10 p.m. at locations throughout the city.
