Millerntor Gallery

Music, arts and entertainment for a good cause: for four days, the St. Pauli football stadium is Hamburg's (sub-)cultural place to be.

Stefan Groenveld

In the heart of Hamburg’s well-known St. Pauli district and within a few minutes'walk from the famous Reeperbahn street lies Millerntor Stadium, home to the St. Pauli football club. In summer, when the team gets some well-deserved time off from a long season, sports yield to the fine arts.

Summer Home for Urban Arts

For four days in July, the much-anticipated takes centre stage at the imposing arena. Artists, musicians and other creative types join hands in order to generate donations for sustainablesanitation and educationsolutions in less fortunate parts of the world. To this end, sales and auctions of the art pieces on display are organised by the local association .

The stadium’s vast hallways will be filled to the brim with contemporary art — from paintings, sculptures and photography to performance art and installations it’s hard not to get lost in this 4000 square metre area.

And if this wasn’t enough, only the finest of local and international music artists, DJs and bands play at various locations throughout the event. Such a gigantic effort is possible only through the tireless work of 200 volunteers. Single and multi-day tickets to Millerntor Gallery can be bought or at the door.
