With workshops, shows and discussions, Hamburg’s annual puts the focus on the future of video games, and creative ways to approach digital gaming are at the centre of the PLAY festival. The week is filled with events taking place at JUPITER Hamburg and online.

Visitors can attend a variety of workshops, stage entertainment events, and talks to learn about the state of modern PC and video games as well as their future.

During numerous workshops at PLAY, keyboard warriors of all ages can try out their skills. Developers large and small alike show off their creations

And something for the locals: many Hamburg-based companies from the city’s vivid digital cluster present themselves to eager tech aficionados. 

Creative Gaming Award 

Annually, the Creative Gaming Award is handed out to the most innovative media products, prototypes and games. Game developers from across the continent apply in two categories. The Most Creative Game Award is given to the best mainstream projects, while lesser-known productions aim to receive the Most Innovative Newcomer Award.
