Stamp Festival

Enjoy urban art, street theatre, hip hop, dance and more at this international street art festival in Hamburg.

Thomas Panzau

For three days, (Street Arts Melting Pot) turns Altona district into a giant festival, where creative outbursts occur everywhere and surprise performances lurk behind every corner. On the first weekend of June, all kinds of urban artists, musicians and dancers gather to present their talents  on the streets of Altona and Ottensen. The festival boasts more than 1000 different acts from 20 different countries, attracting around 400,000 spectators annually to see the colourful mixture of events. Countless parades and performances, percussion groups, hip-hop dance battles, light installations, graffiti art and many other forms of creativity make up the programme. The epicentre of STAMP festival is Platz der Republik square, between Altona station and the district’s beautiful town hall.

At STAMP art is created without schedules, entrance fees and boundaries between artists and audience. In workshops, flash mobs and dance performances, the crowd is encouraged to join in on the action. Art-lovers who feel overwhelmed by such an amount of creativity can join a free guided tour to the most impressive street art sites.
