Binnenalster Film Festival

Watch everything from art house films to international blockbusters on a screen floating on the Inner Alster Lake.

Filmfest Hamburg / Christian Spahrbier

For four September nights per year, the Jungfernstieg waterfront is transformed into a public outdoor cinema. After sundown, a floating canvas on the Inner Alster Lake shows anything from Hitchcock classics and contemporary releases to live broadcast concerts. Entrance to the Binnenalster Film Festival is free, and films are typically screened in the original language accompanied by German subtitles — so anyone can join in on the fun. Head down to the waterfront steps, spread your picnic blanket and enjoy the show: What better way to celebrate the end of summer?

Dates

11-14 September 2025
