Mo & Friese Film Festival

From animation to kid-friendly documentaries, this festival showcases international short films for kids.

Mo & Friese Children's ShortFilmFestival

Kids and teens between the ages of 4 and 18 are the intended audience of the Mo&Friese Children's Short Film Festival. One of the few festivals in the world entirely dedicated to children's short films, Mo&Friese takes place annually alongside the Hamburg International Short Film Festival. It features approximately 70 films from a variety of countries and genres, screening everything from cartoons, to documentaries, to experimental films. The films are shown in their original languages and, in the case of foreign-language films, live-translated into German at the cinema.

At the end of the festival, three kids' juries hand out awards for the best films in three age-defined categories. In addition to the screenings, kids can also partake in several workshops on film technology and cinema. The resulting short films are presented on the last day of the festival.
