A Festival for All Ages
The Wandsbeker Stadtteilfest transforms Wandsbek’s central square into a lively meeting place for residents and visitors alike. It’s a celebration of neighbourhood spirit, where people gather to enjoy music, food, and a host of free activities. Families can look forward to a wide range of entertainment for children and young people, from giant bouncy castles to creative workshops, sports activities, and face painting. Emergency service vehicles from the THW and Johanniter are also on display, giving children a chance to explore and learn.
Music, Dance, and Performances
Live entertainment is at the heart of the festival, with a packed programme of local and guest performers. Expect energetic bands, street artists, and talented dancers delivering everything from soulful melodies to high-energy routines. Past highlights have included dazzling shows by groups like High on Heels from the On Stage Training Centre, combining powerful choreography with striking costumes. The main stage creates a space where music and performance bring the community closer together.
Flavours from Around the World
The food stalls at the Wandsbeker Stadtteilfest are a culinary journey, offering dishes from Africa, Asia, and beyond. Whether it’s discovering new flavours or enjoying a familiar treat like Belgian soft ice cream, there’s something for everyone. Sweet-toothed visitors can enjoy candyfloss in exchange for a donation to Stadtinsel e.V., a local organisation providing mobile activities for children and young people in disadvantaged neighbourhoods and refugee accommodations.
